I don't think he's running enough power for the pcv to not be coping

The PCV valve can still fail over time though (possibly just built up with crap not letting it work properly). Fairly easy thing to eliminate by simply replacing (with a new OEM valve).

I would rather make it work with the stock PCV system, this kind of thing looks kinda cool but it could very easily mask a more serious problem.

Try a stocl oem pcv replacement, if it still plays up get a compression check to see if piston rings are fuked..as sam mentioned the power you make doesn't require some fancy perm plate set up to try and mask the issue.

Tempted to do it myself but i'll take it into the shop to have it done right. Then deal with the results accordingly.

Leakdown and compression tests are done. 3 out of 4 cylinders are no good. L O L.

Pistons, Rods and head studs as a minimum. Other parts to follow once it's been pulled down.

Bugger, thats no good... although it does present an opportunity for forged goodness

    Shame to hear Reedy

What were the results of the compression test? and did they do both dry and wet? also where did the leakdown point to the fault to be? intake/exhaust valves or rings?
I would guess rings/ ringlands with the amount of heat your motor goes through.

The compression test was actually not all that bad, altho not that good either.

    Compression (PSI):
    1. 165
    2. 150
    3. 140
    4. 150

It's the leakdown test that gave some rather bad results.

    Leakdown:
    1. 5%
    2. 35%
    3. 50%
    4. 40%

All cylinders leak down through the crank case.

worth investigating some water/meth to help keep temps down at the track?

just a very small nozzle (like a DO3), so it isnt something you need to worry about day-to-day... but it might help with keeping things cool when you're pushing the motor

ahhh, good ol' cylinder 3... usually it's the one to go on our cars

looks like rings or lands are no good - is your coolant discoloured or levels dropping? may be head gasket failure or head lift around 2-3-4 aswell?

No coolant or head related issues to our knowledge. Altho that will be checked once its been pulled down. All the leakage was into the crank case during testing apparently.
