Hmm.. so the HTP 3" intake/maf appears to be the same dimensions as the sure full3aeros, not true 3" ID.. best bet to get the cheap subaru 3.25" which is true 3" ID

I'm assuming that running a 3" TIP (stock turbo flange) to a 3.25" MAF housing you will definitely require a silcon reducer 3" - 3.25".
My question is am I able to use the same filters from my Cpe excel-nano on the new MAF housing? The fitment must be universal, right?
So, it has been stated that an EBC is required for a BNR S3? What have you guys used & why?

I used the cobb EBC on mine, just because of the name, Grimmspeed is meant to be good also, Had no issues with mine and it worked fine. They are quite loud when activating they make a ticking noise, my advice would be to not mount it on firewall as directed as it gets annoying.

I did not use any reducer from the 3" to 3.25". I just stretched one of the 3" sides out and it fits around the 3.25" housing fine

No one has mentioned gaskets. Hoping someone can quote my post or share their 2c or confirm. I think the stock gaskets can be utilised if still in good condition.
Just a little info that you probably won't get elsewhere (cause I've yet to see it happen to anyone else) If you get an ETS cooler, check the welds towards the back of the cooler (the hot side).
A fair bit of heat radiates onto the cooler. Not sure if this was the direct cause of the crack I got. I lost 5psi. TMIC is currently being re-welded or possibly re-plated.
Another thing that hasn't been mentioned is air filter, make sure you have a decent sized, low resistance filter (if power is what you're chasing) A K&N flows much better than the dry flow filter that comes standard from CP-E etc
Also, since you're doing a turbo install and pulling a bit out....check the hoses. Most MPS's are a few years old now (mine is 7) worthwhile checking for cracks or consider replacing hoses.
I'd also add 1 step colder spark plugs to most of you guys lists. They're cheap from the US. You may want to consider injector seals also.
That's all I got, think the rest has been covered. Be mindful of clutch and driveline with big power increases too (in case you're stretching the budget as it is...)

I can't get much out of that link (have to log on?) I find the K&N filter has a better effect especially at high rpm compared to the dry flow. This is probably due to the larger surface area (the K&N is physically bigger than the stock CP-E dry flow) and also less resistance through the filter itself by design using oil as a means to capture contaminates rather that a paper-like high resistance filter. At high RPM can hear and also feel a slight difference at least on my car with my set of mods. Makes sense a larger surface air filter with low resistance will flow better.
