    Default Turbo Smell MPS6

    Hi guys,

After having my MPS6 for 5 Months now, i have noticed that after a spirited drive i get a bad smell coming from my turbo. I have read about the MPS3 having its turbo replaced by Mazda because of the seals going and having a "plastic & metallic" smell. Is this the same with the 6? or was it a warranty thing? Coz i have a 3yr warranty on the MPS and would it more then likely be covered?
If not covered does anyone know how much the seals are to be replaced?

    Cheers
    Chris

Hi Chris it is the same on the MPS6 they have the same turbos and there are known cases of them going on the 6 as well. If you have loads of white smoke and a strong plastic smell which usually shows itself initially after a fairly decent run then some idling it does sound like your turbo seals.

Heres some links from the forum about it

Mps exhaust blowing white smoke at idle

    Blackbetty,

Its not blowing smoke. theres no normal tell signs of smoke or power loss.
