    Default Pics of 225/45/18 tyres on a Gen 1 MPS 3

    Hi guys.

    Has anyone got pics of their Gen 1 MPS 3 with 225/45/18 tyres on stock suspension?

    Just curious to see what they look like in comparison to the OEM 215/45's as the sidewalls on the 225/45's are slightly higher.

    Can anyone help? Thanks!

    They're about 1 cm wider, and just a tiny but taller... Doubt you can see the difference, but if I get a chance today, can take a pc of mine

    Thanks.. they look a little more chunky compared to 215's I believe (I'm bloody picky though).

    Any issues with rubbing with some weight at the back by any chance?

    3 in the back + luggage = scrubbing when going over speed bumps... They're no real worse than 215/45 in reality

    Yeah fair enough. Do the tyres bluge out of the rim? Can't see that clearly from the pics.

    What Sam said.

    There's no rubbing due to 225/45 unless you bottom the entire rear out. The tyres will protrude about 5mm from the rim depending on which tyre and the sidewall profile. To be honest, if you're going to lose co-ordination while parking, the protrusion saves you from gutter rash

    215/45 = 96.75mm high (45% of width of tyre)

    225/45 = 101.25mm high (45% of width of tyre)

    Difference = 5mm height

    You won't visually pick the height difference

    Stock ride height with 225/45 - aftermarket wheels, but this might help you see the difference, as it's pushed closer to the gaurds (+48 offset) - this has a squarer sidewall than the same fitted to OEM wheels. on OEM, there's a little bulge in the sidewall - varies between tyre types.

    I think the extra sidewall fills the guards nicely
