    Default Intermittent Servicing

    Hey Guys,

I'm pretty sure Wardski gets an intermittent service every 5000kms and I was just wondering if anyone else does this too? I'm coming up to 5000kms (boy those 9wks flew!) and was wondering if I should get one done?

    Thoughts and opinions appreciated!

    Cheers

Just do it yourself like i do....

I do my tyre rotation, oil and filter myself at 5000kms...

Then I let mazda do their 10000km service....

    I do around 10000km in 3 -4 months...

Am considering doing an interim 5000km oil/filter change, question for anyone who does this, what oil and filter do you normally use and do you replace the sump plug washer?

Every 5000 to 7000 kays is a good time to change your oil dOtty. Turbo cars, especially these factory hand grenades pushing 14PSI boost, At least an oil change should be carried out. I have always done this.

Thank God I can go back to the ol trusty Ryco Z9 filter, those canisters Mazda and Nissan, etc have nowdays 5h1t me......

Many types of oil you can use....

Royal Purple, Shell, Mobil, Castrol...its really up to your budget.

    Rating I use is 0 - 40

As for the oil filter...you can buy from mazda..isnt expensive and you must replace the sump plug washer...or it will leak oil..they are only a few bucks.

When I got my gauges put in by APC racing today, I got them to change the oil and filter as I've almost done the 5000km and needing the intermediate service.

They put in Castrol Edge Sport 0W-40 and changed the filter for a total of $130, on top of the gauge pod install.

I dont usually do the oil change myself, so its good to get someone cheap like APC to do it, as they only use Genuine Maz parts, and at discount rates. However, if you're getting the 5000km service to replace oil and filter, and also check out rattles, etc, then just book it into Mazda, and get them to do their standard service (simlar to a 10,000km one for $190 odd) and get your warranty stuff checked out. I still need my powersteering intermittant rattle to be checked out, but i will do that in another 5000km

    Hi Dotty.
I have my oil + filter changed every 5000 Ks but my son is a mechanic at Mazda.
As most of the forum members live in Queensland I would have thought that at list one member would come and HELP you.
If I lived up that way I would come and help you. .
I aim to retire in Queensland but I don't know if you can wait that long.

$18.45 for 1 x oil filter, 1 x sump plug washer from Mazda

    $69.95 for Castrol Edge Sport

Holy crap... I could have bought a pair of shoes for that!
