    Jesus Christ Guys.. Settle..

the MPS hasnt got the best box in the world or the best shift feel...

but it works and im fine with that...

    Ive driven worse..

    Por ejemplo

a WRX STI in the weekend.. Put it in first Take off notice that the Gearstick flops around even if engaged..

yeah the shifts are poor at the best of times... just go with the flow is what i have learnt to do..

if the SS improved shifts then great.... other wise learn the limitations and deal with them...

Yeah totally agree, the SS makes the box feel so much better (hang on that sounds wrong) its a Mazda not a Ferrari remember, it does the job and the SS just makes that job feel a lot better.

relax people haha its a topic about Short Shifters, not human ethics or something.

I share a passion for cruises and cars are my life, so i have every right to be here. I never said my opinion was gospel.....you seem to be as touchy as cosmic.

You know its's funny. You are more than welcome to have an opinion on the forum that shares my car's name, however if you have a cheeky go at any of our members, you will cop it back from many members tongue in cheek. On here, its only you two that back each other up.

You must be cosmic's boyfriend. I took a picture for you on page 7 just in case you guys break up. i like fiesty.....rreeaaaaaooor! http://www.ozmpsclub.com/forum/off-t...ug-here-7.html

back on topic and stop wasting your fellow members time!

I was pointed to this thread by a member who was concerned about the direction in which it was going.

I've read all the posts in this thread and come to the conclusion that Man|ac's original comment wasn't calling Mazda owners w@nkers, rather the short shifter modification itself. This is a discussion about peoples' opinions on the short shifter...nothing else. Not whether one car is better than another.

I think because of the supposed 'rivalry' between the two brands, Man|ac's original comment was taken out of context and conclusions were jumped to. But that's no excuse for allowing the discussion to degenerate to this level.

Please keep this thread on topic! This 'my d!ck is bigger than yours' fight is getting old and is wearing thin on my patience.

Bound to happen when someone calls their mods genitalia.

I think you guys should have a thread that lists all the available mods such as this one and prices/website links e.t.c.

The funny thing is that maniac is a paid member of the site with vip status, some others defending themselves and turning it into an us vs them battle arent even vip's....

Check post 49......it wasnt a MPS owner that mentioned anything about our car being superior.
And so what if maniac is a paid member, that his choice, & since when do you have to be a VIP member to defend your own car????

what adjustability is the COBB setup? Height or actual throw of the shifter itself?

Hmm do you mean what can you adjust? you can adjust the throw of the shifter itself and the height of the shifter. I was going to put it in today but got a little side tracked.
will probably set it up to have the highest possible height but the shortest throw. Height of the V8 or rally cars. haha

From personal experience I prefer a SS, obviously depending on the car..
In some cases it may not make you that much faster, but it can greatly improve the over all feel and accuracy of throws.

In my old SSS the SS made a great difference to the previously lifeless and somewhat clunky shifter, have not yet done this to the MPS but am looking forward to it.

    Have you guys seen these??

    Mazdaspeed3 short shift plate.
    Brusshed aircraft grade alum.
    Stainless mounting hardware
    Reduces throw by 35%
    15min install time.

Guy in the states makes them! sent him an email said he could get me one here for around 159.00 Aus. Has some good reviews!
