Ok I just did this today.
I found you have to tighten the shit out of the bolts on the outer pieces, I mean, metal bending, plastic cracking (all hidden though luckily) before they look ok on the outside, otherwise they look stupid as (Don't do this to the pieces that fix onto the boot though!, those you put on from the side at a 45 degree angle and then lower and do reasonably tight, but not too tight or the plastic fixing will break). As for where to put the wires I can take some photos of what I've done tomorrow but here is a description of what I did
Just realised instructions are in boot so I'm probably wrong about colours... anyway! Err I'll update that tomorrow
Put in your lights, tighten them up good so they look ok, now what you want to do is plug in that harness into both and have that free mess of wires floating around.
There are a few ways you can connect the wires, you can cut/melt off sheilding and solder, cut and twist then wrap in electrical wire or you can do what I did. I just stuffed the wire into the terminals after stipping off some shielding and bending it over 2 or 3 times until it fits snuggly ensuring good contact then taping it into place. Please note that if you do it this way put the wire in the front for unconnected connectors and in the back for ones which still need to be connected. While this isn't the best way of doing it it is completely reversable and causes no damage at all to the original wires (Also I don't have power anywhere near where my car is parked so I couldn't use a soldering iron). A warning, make sure not to short anything here, while the chances of doing that while plugging stuff in is pretty small due to playing with LEDs make sure you tape stuff up so you don't have live wire able to touch metal or grounding wires. Nobody likes having to hunt down why that fuse keeps blowing and the easiest time to prevent it is when doing the install.
Earth (Black?)
When you took out your old lights you unplugged them but didn't use the old 2 pin plug. This plug has 2 wires, one is earth and the other is reverse light. The easiest way to work out which is which is get a multimeter and put the car in reverse. Your meter should read either -12 or +12 (don't worry if it isnt quite 12, mind was closer to 11 ). If you get positive then your black lead is in the earth point. If you get a negative number then your red lead is where you will plug in your earth wire
Reverse (White?)
This one you are going to use the other half of the socket mentioned above so do these at the same time and tape them up good.
Break (Red?)
This one you want to find the plug that goes into the boot lid break light. If you have a look you will see a grommet near where the light is in the centre of the boot lid, trace the wire that comes from that until you find the point where there is a connector. You can open this connector to allow easier access and then tap into it with your chosen method.
Lights (Blue?)
For this we want to attach to the number plate lights. Disconnect the one of the reversing lights and turn the lights on. Use your multimeter across the terminals, this time we only want to patch in to the positive side. Once you have tapped into it plug it back in.
Then all you need to do is get a mate to test all the lights while you stare at the back of your car.
If you get positive then your black lead is in the earth point. If you get a negative number then your red lead is where you will plug in your earth wire
I read that so many times, and didn't get it....
So if the red lead is negative, I join the Earth Wire to it?
any photos of the lights in? maybe on black car..want to see what they look like
thanks
Here's a quick photo I took, didn't really have the time to take a "good" photo
Anyone got any photos of how these look in daylight yet on their black MPS6 ?
here we go, a quick snappy of mine in day :

Taken my boring, bland, lame Subaru and my fat ass and driven off into the sunset with a smile on my face
how come PSIs look all lit up in the middle, or is that just because its kind of a side shot ?
It's actually because I was backed into the garage. And there is no light what so ever in the direction of my cars ass. Therefore the LED's look brighter
any better day light ones high on psi?? im still deciding haha its annoying me..i want to see them in real haha..they look awesome on my mates red..just not sure about my black haha
What I thought when I first got them was that they look alright, but better than the chromie OEM ones. It also annoyed me but they are growing on me now and actually look great, it also looks absolutely sexy if you just drive with parker lights on at the day time, your rear end still lights up
I'll try to take some good shots soon
