Thread: Would damage have been done?

  1. Default Would damage have been done?

    Hi guys,

Ok so this is hard to admit being a male and all but today I stalled my MPS.

I was stopped on a hill in traffic and went to give it some gas and take off as normal but I was in third gear (thought I was in first). After a brief second or so of going nowhere he car stalled and I swore... Heaps.

The car smelt really bad for a little bit and I got annoyed at myself.

Just wondering could any damage have been done?

doubt it... probably just burnt the clutch a bit... as long as there isnt any lasting smell, or it has suddenly become dead in terms of feel, you should be fine

also, stalling is nothing to be ashamed of... i probably average at least one stall for every 5 times i try and extract my car from where it's parrallel parked
the longer it's been since i've driven it, the more likely i am to stall it
as for the gear thing, been there done that... hill starts in 3rd gear ftw

Try a modded mps ( with short shift kit) ... with a tricky clutch/lightn flywheel, i have not driven it yet ( this weekend WOOT ) but i had other modded cars before with brass button clutches etc.. looking forward to it and not all at the same time

Think Jase and Sam want to be there so they can laugh at me stalling it
Many want Power not many hold it long.........

Aside from the slight burning smell, all it'll do is make you look like a knob at the lights.

    I've been there.

My first couple of weeks with my MPS6 was a little embarrassing when it came to hill starts. No matter.
As long as the smell doesn't linger too long you'll be fine.

Feel the pain. When I first bought the MPS I stalled it driving off from dealer .

    Don't worry about it.

Two types of people in the world. Those who have stalled their car and those who are about to.
