    Welcome.
Exhaust won't get you much more power. Look at getting a turbo down pipe. The pipe that immediately leaves the turbo. Aftermarket allows quicker turbo spool and better exhaust flow.

    Welcome!

As mentioned above a DP is arguably the best bolt on mod per cash spent for the MPS. An exhaust will offer minimal gains but if you desire optimal flow and a bit of note then fair enough you would be looking at a turbo-back exhaust. If you're interested in more power, I'll suggest an intake modification such as a CAI or SRI, TIP and a larger filter as this will promote increased air flow in. If you finances allow you have a few options including Intercooler, Turbo upgrade and tune.

My folks just got back from a holiday in NZ! Fuel is a killer price over there aye?

With great power comes great fuel consumption...

Good Dump Pipes with a high flow cat can be around AUS$1000.

CAI = Cold Air Intake ie One that hides away inside the front guard
SRI = Sort Ram Intake ie Pod style intake.

The factory down pipe has two cats in it. The first cat (straight on the turbo) and the second cat (past the elbow).

An aftermarket DP will usually delete the first cat.

The DP I bought was from Best Mufflers in Sydney. I had it freighted to Melbourne, and it came with a high flow (100cpi) cat (in place of the second cat). Bolts up to your existing factory exhaust.

Peak HP gains aren't much, but turbo spool is quicker, and mid range is opened up. Top end increases if you get a good tune as well.

Search the forum for "Best Mufflers" and "2XS DP".

2 different products, 2 different approaches, but Australian made.

I have the BM DP on my GENII. As for power agains and better engine response, I can't say enough. But I am still having trouble with CEL's (check engine light) which has got to do with how the car is reading the efficiency of what were 2 cats. The DP install replaces both OEM cats with a single High Flow 100 cell cat. The cars reads this as being less efficient hence the CEL's. It's not hurting the car, except that it's running a lot richer than normal.

    Stuff the SRI or CAI.
Go the DP, big cost, but definite gains.

Brad, yours is a Gen 2 too. Mine is a 2008 and I've NEVER had a check engine light.
But seriously, check out the threads. My DP might be changed to a 2XS one soon though... No reason. Just gonna give it a try.

Hey dude, I've ordered stuff from 2xs and streetunit to nz. Troy (2xs) is great to deal with and streetunits shipping to nz, though pricey, is pretty fast.

(not saying other sponsors of these forums aren't good, just haven't dealt with them yet.)

I haven't modded mine much yet, just the rear engine mount, but will be getting other things soonish, like intake and dp.

what does the rear engine mount actually do?

Stiffen the engine up, improves shifting, and lessens wheelhop.

    Can increase cabin vibrations though.
