Default How To: remove BL MPS rear wing + roof turret strips...??

    Hi All,

Is anyone able to help me out with instructions on removing the rear wing on the BL MPS3 and the roof turret strips? (black plastic strips that house the roof rack fixing points)

Also, the interior decorative panels on the dash?

    Thanks heaps in advance.

Re the rear wing, there are some good instructions on the Mazdaspeed forums here: http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...ar-wing-41046/

Not sure about the rack though. Never tried

Have you bought an MPS or am I just slow on pick up here?

...or, are you stealing someones wing to put it on your Mazda 6 hatch?

Brad, its all in my signiture...

I do have an MPS and am looking to do a bit of custom vinyl work to it myself, both interior and exterior.

That's one thing about using Tapatalk ALL the time. It doesn't show you signatures.

    Congrats on the purchase though.

So what's with the wing coming off? Bit of carbon fibre vinyl?

I did that rear wing rattle fix myself. The main part is popping the clips once you remove the nuts, they are very stubborn and require a lot of controlled force.

what rear wing rattle ? Is this only at high speed or excessive bumps ? I don't think I've ever noticed.

Now I'm getting paranoid. will have to listen out for it tomorrow.

Nah, for me it happens at any speed, when going over bumps. It's a creaking tapping noise caused by the wing tapping against the rear glass, and it's unbelievably annoying.

It's caused by a lack of proper cushioning between the wing and the car body/glass. It's simple enough to fix but involves removing the rear wing, which is moderately fiddly

Pulled the rear wing off today and fixed the rattle with some thick double sided tape. Soooo much better now

Is there a thread on fixing this rattle? Would need some instructions on doing this. I was wondering what the hell the rattle was!
I thought it was my passenger seat for some reason + Everytime I close the hatch, i think it is going to come off!

Yep, it's in my post further up ^^

It's pretty straight forward. Think ahead though and have somewhere clear and out of the way to put your wing when you take it off (eg. a table with a blanket/towels). Nothing worse than wandering around aimlessly looking for somewhere to put the removed wing and then scratching it inadvertently

For padding the wing, I just used some thick double-sided water resistant tape bought from Repco. Works a treat, my rear wing is solid as a rock now.

If you're getting a rattle from near the passenger seatbelt, check the plastic bit that covers the seatbelt bolt where it attaches to the floor. That one drove me mad for months before I worked it out

Cool got em off. Pushed strip forward, it popped out at the front and I slid the rest out.
