    Default MPS6 Turbo

    Hi folks.
My turbo has taken up smoking, and I'm seriously considering ordering a BNR stage 2 replacement. Thing is, I don't really want to take my turbo off, send it to BNR for exchange, and then wait 3-5 weeks for my replacement to arrive.
I'm wondering if anybody has an OEM turbo that has carked it and would like to sell it/swap for a slab/What Have You so I can keep my car going while waiting for a replacement? I'll even send you my old snail after exchange as a replacement if you wish.
    Thanks,
    Pete.

Pete - When i ordered my turbo from BNR he gave me the option to pay an additional fee so i didn't have to send in my old turbo. i think it was about $200.

If that options no longer available i can loan you my stocker and you can just give me yours after the install.

How much you do think it will cost to send the dead turbo to BNR?

Not sure about the postage Toddy. Based on musical stuff that I've sent/had sent I'd reckon about $70.
Any idea how much the stock unit weighs?
Thank you very much for your kind offer. I just want to check the Plug & Play compatibility of the stage 2 unit, and then I might like to take you up on that.

I think it sounds better if you are addressed as "oh Sarcastic One" ;-)

stage 2 turbo shouldn't need many modifications to install. Worst case you'll have to trim part of the heat shield so it clears the waste gate actuator rod and possibly make a new water line which is easy.

If you ask Bryan @ BNR he might be able to use the stock waste gate actuator so you dont have to play around with different size restrictor pills to get the boost dialed in.

I have 3. If you need 1 let me know. I have a well used turbo, my old turbo (35kms) and a BNR stage 1 all sitting here.

You can leave a deposit and have it refunded when you give me yours after the install.

Any idea of what price you'd like for the BNR?

If you are replacing your turbo just because of the smoke, try thicker oil first- mine used to smoke like a chimney and since using thinker oil no smoke at all in 12 months, and car runs as good as new.

I seem to recall reading that...thanks for the reminder.
What brand and viscosity are you using, Shinslinger?
