Thread: MPS6 suspension set up - post your pics/specs

  1. Default MPS6 suspension set up - post your pics/specs

Thought it would be helpful to other high riding MPS6'ers such as myself who are looking at lowering options for other 6 members to post up some pics and detailed description of what they have done in terms of their suspension set up/springs/ coilovers etc.

If you could post side on pics and front on pics together with prices and where you got work done that would be fantastic

oh also gap between bottom of your front bar and the road and how much your car was lowered by

...what's this...Mel is considering mods? I'll have to get back to you on some better pics or info, but I can say that the only suspension work I've had modified is the springs, swapped out for King Springs (low) and a corksport strut brace. Not as good as coilovers but a happy medium for a daily on bumpy roads/driveways every now and then. I don't have many side shots or particulars regarding suspension but if any are needed to view my set-up I will be happy to get some more specific images on request. These are ones I have handy

Based on King Springs Low Setup my approximate clearance figure is (flat surface) ~140mm - see last image

    Strut Bracing

Both MPS6's on King Springs (low) and front Lips installed

My 6 with stubby to get an idea of clearance

Believe it or not I do have some basic mods, Im not really into power mods other than those that make a cool sound which appeals to me and as a side effect improve power and responsiveness (ie DP and SRI). I do already have a front strut brace, rear whiteline sway bar and SRI. Im basically after lowring my car in a tasteful way bearing in mind I have a very steep driveway with a sharp change in slope at the bottom once it gets near the gutter. and I dont mind paying decent money for decent quality things

What you've gotta do Mel is lower the hell out of that boat, install some airbags for the full lowrider effect and that will also take care of the steep driveway. Then what you're gonna do right, is get some Gold and Chrome 2 tone spinners for your rims and just pimp the SHIT out of it from there.

    Custom springs Mel.
    Seriously.
    Not overly expensive either.
Have them made in the same rate, just lowered one inch, or what you want.
Keep the same ride quality and handling, just look more AWD less 4WD

Failing that, go for reedys idea!

Agree with brad here, key point is to have them lowered just the right amount and preserve desirable spring rates. coilovers in this instance are total overkill.

Eibachs springs and Bilstiens shocks on all fours.
Front strut brace and rear upper strut brace as well.

+1 for custom springs! If you are going custom, I would recommend K-Mac Springs!

i say go for the pedders super lows! they lower the car a great amount i think, low enough to give it a great stance, but not too low that it compromises driveablility....

i still have to go mega slow at angles into driveways/entrances/ramps, but still could be worse.

    Moar photos to come

Tein SS from Fulcrum Suspension. Kept as much ride height as I could without resorting to a helper spring setup. Plenty of travel, OK amount of droop. Very comfortable on the road, and a decent improvement when pushing along.

Couple of pics of it at noise, and one just sitting around with the RX8 rims (while I get the MPS ones fixed, the result of one of those pics).
