Thread: Tunehouse - Ecutek tuned.

  1. #1

    Default Tunehouse - Ecutek tuned.

My car has been at Tunehouse the last couple of days getting Ecutek tuned.
I picked the car up today, WOW. Feels soo much more responsive and the Torque is awesome. The car pulls effortlessly. I had a bit of a chat with Jim about the tune and hes really happy with it. He spent ALOT of time on it just making sure it was really nice. Overall i just cant recommend these guys enough. Not only do they have arguably the best dyno room in the country, they are a really nice bunch of very professional guys and to top it all off they can do this for a very good price. Oh, and they even fixed my gearbox/diff whine too with an oil change! Bloody Mazda dealers cant solve anything!

    Mods are:
    Best mufflers DP
    CPE SRI Intake
    Corksport turbo inlet pipe
    GFB Blow off valve
    Tunehouse Ecutek tuned

    wow.... thats freaking amazing...
just looking at the torque curve... you're making more NM at 2500rpm post tune than you were through the entire rev range before.... and it's a great curve from 2750-5250rpm
cant wait to see jase's car in there (or mitch's when it's finally completed...)
going to need to get the mods done, and book my car in for a tune with these guys...
can you reveal how much it was?

Id suggest calling them to get the current pricing,
But yeah the torque curve is what makes this car.
Jasons car will be a weapon thats for sure.

    Thats a beautiful tune Cton.

Great result there Cton, you must be impressed.

Do you happen to know the other details, i.e boost, AFR's etc, would be nice to know.

Any more on your CEL issue, I would assume that the nazi like Mazda parameters can be adjusted with the ECUtek.

^ Im very impressed. I know it runs 17psi, didnt ask about the AFR though.
Havent had the CEL come on in around 1000kms so not alot i could get him to look into there. We'll have to see how that goes.
I know they cant remove fault codes at this stage unlike with the Subarus. Its something Ecutek are working on and will be a matter of a simple update when its available.
Cant wait to go for a drive today!!!

^ I would think so. LittleredMPS made 200kw with the same mods and a TMIC. I would think he'll be at 230kw when it's tuned.
I took it for a good run yesterday. The low down torque is so good.
I'm extremely happy with my car all round at the moment.
    Money very well spent.

I think that is an optimistic outcome, would be fantastic to see him get it there, but as his sri was causing his afrs to run at around 11:1, and boost probably at around 17 on the dyno day, I doubt there will be that much more movement in there, sure Jim will probably pull a bit of timing, and clean up the fuel curve a bit, to improve the peak and overall power that he is making, Im guessing maybe 215.
As long as we get an MPS making more than Maniacs XR5 (on pump fuel).

    Agreed Matt.

I personally think there wont be much of a power increase, think it will be more a torque boost, and overall tidy up.

If I see around 210kw and 390-400nm I will be stoked.

One thing is for sure, he can pull plenty of timing, mine was running almost no advance at all.

    Weird arsed mazda tunes.

^ the power will definately be there alot earlier. And yeah plenty of torque!
My car actually made about 210kw, but he pulled it back a bit to keep it nice and safe.
What does the XR5 make? Jim said a good XR5 is putting out around 230kw

05-11, 21:35 MaN|aC ok im hiding that it was race fuel
    05-11, 21:35 MaN|aC actually 215 and 455Nm on BPpump

Jim said at the dyno day there was a lot more left in mine with a tune to bring it all together.

Guess we will just have to see lol.

I was actually going to do it last week, but couldnt free up the car for a whole weekend.

I am working on a time in the near future.

    Hey Seaton,

Jim would like to pass on a big thank you for your kind words on the forum. He said it was a total pleasure to have you here the other day (o, and the 3).

We are looking forward to seeing you again soon. As well as all the other MPS' soon to come through the Tunehouse door.
