Thread: RX8 wheels on your Mazda MPS

I saw a set of gen 1 RX8s just recently, I think on Ebay for $600!!!

These look great and really suit the car, but for me I'm thinking OEM Evo X 18x8.5 Enkeis, 350Z 18x8.5 Touring or aftermarket.

You guys should see how well the Evo rims look on a MPS and same with the 350Zs which look some what similar to the RX8s but ain't flat and have some concave going on...

I've got another set of RX-8 rims which I'm selling soon also (got keen and bought two sets haha). They're both the older style of RX-8 rims but one set is a slightly more shadow colour than the other.
where abouts you located and how much you asking for them? you selling the shadow colour or are they on your car?

    EVO X Enkeis

350Z (yeah low stance blah blah...)

Both seem to have spot on offsets, both sets are 8.5 wide but I think the 350Z rear have a much lower offset, that white car is super dumped hence they look like they're sticking out but they're not as bad as running 18x9s with a +30 offset. Imo they fill out the guards quite nice, I have found a set of both so I'd be going with one of these set of wheels for sure and lower it a little bit with BC BR Coilovers...

Malicioso, both those rims are awesome. Was considering the 350z myself but the lower offset rears seemed a little aggressive. But that white Gen 1 is awesome. You'll love the BC BR's: I'm lovin mine!

    Thanks mate!

Yeah they look horn on that white one, the rears are wide but they can be made to work, atm I'm on the lower scale with regards to mods (ssp, engine mount, Intake etc etc) might have to leave coilovers and wheels for last.

I've only heard good things about them, for a budget coilover on a car that would only potentially hit the track 2-3 times per yr they're the way to go.

Bump, posted these elsewhere but figured as this is the reference thread I'd whack them here too.

Whilst i like the look of the style of the 350Z wheels, it will annoy the hell out of me being that low in conjunction with those wheels. And not just because of my usual issues that i mention often, but how the hell can he stand the noise of no inner wheel arches?
Assuming that car actually gets driven, which i doubt.
And I don't mean a 2 minute drive to the shops on billiard table smooth roads.

One thing i am interested in is the PROPER fog lights these cars have.
    That is, orange lenses.
So you can actually see through the fog, not just under it like our cars do.

Anyway, back to the actual topic......

Awesome paint job on the rims. Did you do it yourself or professionally?

These are mine at the moment. New rubber and then I'll drop it a little more...

    Good job!
As for the orange fog light lenses; most have an acrylic sheet layered over stock lenses. I found a supplier in the States: about $15 a pair. Also avail in blue, clear and smoked. Only problem is they were $39 min postage but recommended a group buy. I'm keen on the orange lenses too.

As stupid as it may sound that white MPS with the 350Z wheels is daily driven, the guy uses it to go to work in and drives it all over TX to go to car shows and stuff, from what I could tell while I was in Houston the roads are real flat!

Just to add to the above, he's now gone even wider, lower and here is proof it is driven on roads...

He's recently driven it from Houston to San Antonio for a photo shoot which is an approx 400mile trip (643kms)....

sorry for going a lil off topic

    carry on....
