    Default Back on Black Engine Rebuild

    Thought i would start a thread for the progress of my engine rebuild teh joy's the low's.. this is the internal mods-

    NPR pistons
    DCR VVT actuator
    Eibach vavle springs
    Racing balanced piston,crank,rods
    Carrillo Rods
    CPe fuel pump

    Will update this as i go

    The ACT clutch package is very good. I have it in my mps6. Although I get a LOT more vibration between 1200-1900rpm which I assume the dual-mass flywheel used to absorb.

    Are you doing the rebuild yourself?

    Cpe rods,Cpe pistons, bottom end balance, race bearings, arp head studs, 2xs mani, garrett 3076, cpe 4'tip, cpe fuel pump,cpe flash,cpe standback,ACT clutch/flywheel.Thats whats going into it

    Waiting on machinists to finish the engine at the moment.

    Waiting on oversized pistons now, the bore was to worn for the standard sized forged pistons. Daniel said he has a order in and waiting for tracking conformation from Cpe. so will prob be a weeks time for delivery my guess.

    'I think Aaron' has to wait on the pistons now to measure them up and than get each pot fitted to a piston. the tollerances have to be right . the machinist will do the job get it back and hopefully reconstruct the engine a short time later ( i hope)

    will be 3 ... NPR than Cpe standard than Cpe 20thou ( 0.5mm)
