Hi everyone, i currently have 215/45/R18 on my MPS3 Gen1. I want to go to 225/40/R18 but the tyre shop guy reckons the rubber may scrub the strut tower inside. Anyone running this size without issue?
Cheers, Fuz

running 225/45 atm... no issues here...
know people who have run 235/40 had occasional issue
I Don't believe they will scrub the strut tower, howeever that tyre size is not legal on a 7 "wide standard mps rim I run that same size tyre on 8 "rims without a problem, on a 7"rim there is a danger of the tyre rolling under the rim on hard cornering .

I think if you go 225/45/18 its legal and mine doesn't scrub i got stock height atm, apparently with people in the back and nice dips in the road you may get them to scrub lol.
As above, 225/45 is legal across the board, 225/40 is on only a few selected tyres (I think RE001 is one of those).
Been running 225/45 for 42000km now, no issues other than the occasional scrub on the back in the first 10000km when going over very large bumps, nothing to worry about.
