Thread: Downpipe Installers in Sydney?

    Default Downpipe Installers in Sydney?

    Hey Guys,

I know these downpipe threads have been done to death but I need some more local info.

I'm getting my CPE DP installed in Sydney. I have 2 main needs:

    1. I want to get it done at a place that has installed this part before and knows what their doing.
    2. And hopefully get the best price available (from previous threads it seems to range between $300-$450ish)

If anyone could recommend Sydney places they have had their dp installed and how much it cost (if you're comfortable posting it).

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

Are you getting the CP-e downpipe from MPS Garage? If so, why not get them to install it for you? They know what they are doing and have probably to done quite a few.
As for the cost, your estimate is about right... I will say mid 400 (if the O2 sensor ain't broken coming out.)

    Thanks for the responses everyone.

I thought I would post the results of my search

    - best mufflers were keen to do it for $550ish, and the guy said it would be around 3 or 4 weeks wait. the guy was a nice bloke and from what ive heard they would do a good job, but i wouldnt be able to leave the dp just sitting around at home for that long it would be depressing.
    - my local mazda dealer said they dont really do them, but recommended a nearby workshop who said they would do it but they have never done an exhaust/downpipe for a newer mazda so that was a no-go (not keen on getting that broken o2 sensor call mid-install haha)
    - called castle hill exhaust who quoted $150, then when i mentioned it would likely take 3-5ish hours he didnt seem very interested. the guy i spoke to seemed like a bit of a tool so i left it at that.
    - got a quick email reply from mps garage who quoted $450 which sounded more like what i expected to pay. and they can do it this weekend - cheering!

i'll let you guys know how the install went

Chris is in demand by the looks of things (rightly so)

Just a word of warning, if the O2 sensor breaks coming out, you pay, if it breaks going back in, they pay...

Didn't expect Mazda to install it, they're not the most forthcoming of people when it comes to mods...

Hope all goes well, you'll probably see a black 3 there, seems to spend all its time there

I guess our melbourne mazda dealers are a little bit more helpful as I have dealt with 4 dealers all of whom fit mods?? I rocked up downpipe in hand and had it booked in for the next morning.
