bought a 05/06 MPS6 earlier this year (Feb) with only one previous owner. car had 67K kms and maintained regularly. i also purchased the extended 5 star platinum warranty from the holden dealer i got the MPS6 from (i can get it serviced at anwhere thou)
ive booked it in for its 70K service 6 months ago, which was fine...and today for its 80K km service. i get it done at the same dealer which sold the car new to the original dealer as its convienient for me location wise (melville mazda for you perth WA peeps.
i was told earlier this morning by the service dept that 80K kms was a big one and they showed me a list of things they would check.
just picked it up.
they said
- the car blowing a little bit of black smoke, which the couldnt diagnose as a problem
- error message showed up and asked if i had replaced a batter, which i did about 4 months ago. not a biggie
- i will need new brakes AND discs soon (in the next 2000km) will cost around $1000.
i guess its about time (for brakes), but does that price for the brakes and discs sound about right? again no biggie...i accept that its part of owning a car and also buying a 2nd hand car.
i may ring around a couple of other mazda dealers (wood bros is close to home and osbourne park is ok) as well as some authorised mazda replacement part people. ill need to do this in order to not void the extended warranty.
the car at the momment has done roughlyt 78500 kms...i plan to get the brakes/discs sorted out for when it hits 80K kms.
i dont thrash the car or go heavy on brakes, in fact i generally drive so i dont have to use my brakes unless i have to (duh)
cool story yeah? any other MPS6 owners got anything to chime in RE the above???
