You won't be able to go 245 without a savage guard roll. In fact pumping them a bit would probably be necessary.
215/45 on 18x8+48 will rub in rare circumstances
So 235/40 on 18x8+50 (RX-8 rims) will probably need a roll
I'm on 225/45 wrapped over 18x7.5+48 and while most mainstream tyres are fine with no rub, if you go KU-36 or Falken RT-615, a roll becomes necessary to completely eliminate likelyhood of rubbing.

Looking at my options, I'm running the Seriers 1 RX-8 Rims, with mazdaspeed lowering springs (stock camber arms though)
Options:
- 225/45/18 <-- Not going these
- 235/40/18 <-- Good cause they are wider and cheaper
- 245/40/18 <-- Wider again (yes im a lateral grip whore) unknown pricing at this point.
Questions:
- Has anyone here run these? Seems like a popular choice on the RX8 forums.
- Is it likely to rub? (its going to be 10mm wider...)
I want to avoid a guard roll of I can!
Thoughts/opinions appreciated!
