    Default *Click* under acceleration

    Hey all.

Quick question, when I accelerate hard I sometimes get a click noise, this sounds like it is coming from the front drivers side.. Most noticeable in
1st->3rd when on power hard, just when boost comes on. I have also heard it when down shifting..

Has anyone else experienced this? any ideas with what it may be?
I am due for a service and will mention it but I am not too hopeful it will be located.

To me it sounds sort of like a CV click..

    Any feedback welcome

Is it when the momentum in the car shifts?

Sure seems to be, when most of the weight shifts either forward of backwards (when boost kicks in) or when the clutch is being let out a little spiritedly on a down shift.

I know this sounds silly, but is it something rolling around under the seat?
Having 2 kids, I find all sorts of stuff under my seats - toys, drink-bottles, clothes...

To test your cv's go to an undercover carpark or basement, and do the full lock turn with both windows down. Alternatively, it could be your LSD failing to lock in, but that would be a centre dash -> passenger side noise accompanied with a wurrrr sound

Would I expect to hear it click in this case?
I am certain that it has to do with with the weight shifting.. Ill mention it to service on the weekend.

I've had the same problem for months now. I told Mazda the splines in the drivetrain needed greasing and they came back with "It's the belt tensioner pulley", which they then replaced under warranty. Noise is still there, so I'll take it in again this service and tell them to check the splines... AGAIN.

It only makes the sound when the drivetrain is being loaded under acceleration or deceleration. It's actually pretty loud and annoying on my car.

jmac, my old SP23 did exactly the same thing, they replaced the drivers-side driveshaft under warranty and the noise dissapeared. It didnt make any noise doin full-lock turns though, only when coming onto power, or moving from reverse to 1st etc.

    Cheers.

Not having any "click"s, but I do understand the frustration with the wheel alignment. My dealer CANNOT get the front wheel alignment right on my baby.
It's been back 3 times so far, and will be going back again soon...

Take it to a decent place that does a laser alignment. Funnily enough the best laser alignment I've ever gotten was from a Bridgestone Tyre Centre....

Yes, well if it's not fixed with the next service, I will be taking it elsewhere and sending Mazda the bill...

God... Why don't they just take a hit and admit it's the f*cking shafts. I've been telling them that for months and they'll think up any excuse in the book to look elsewhere.

Don't take it to Mazda take it to a CV Joint place.

I had issues with my CV Boot and Mazda said they aren't experts in parts like CV Joints and I would be better to take it to a specialist.
