Very normal...Mazdas have been doing that since my model (2005 Neo)
my fan keeps going after the engines off. it doesnt always do it tho
some say its the throtle blade shutting to keep engine from dieseling, then cracks bak open
There was a thread on this a while ago and from memory it has a mini shut down procedure, it checks to make sure throttle plates has full movement and I've heard it also keeps oil flowing through the turbo for 30s after you turn it off to allow it to cool down properly.
Yeah i remember making a post on this AGES ago. Isn't it a thermo fan or something? i hear it when its hot or when ive been driving for a while.
If it's a high-ish pitch noise you're referring to, I remember this problem on the CX7. I think general consensus on forums was that it was the high pressure fuel pump 'discharging'
cheers

Just to add another theory to the mix
It could be the throttle plate doing a calibration. Presumably so that its set correctly for startup.
All recent Nissans do that, sounds the same.
