Exclusive - Fresh New Mazda Technology from Europe
Our friends at Mazda Australia have provided some information on the fresh new technology direct from Europe, see below for more information.
SKY-G
• Diesel-level efficiency
• B-segment fuel economy from C-segment while maximizing actual-use torque (-15 % fuel economy and +15% torque)
• Smooth and linear response with naturally aspirated engine, without expensive external devices (turbo, compressor)
• Efficient calibration that works for all engines due to their common combustion character. Meaning the series of engines could be deployed promptly across the entire all vehicle range.
SKY-D
• Provide the same fuel economy as a two-class-smaller GE vehicle (20% improvement from current DE)
• Comply with Europe Stage6, USA Tier2 Bin5 and Japan post new long term standards without expensive NOx after treatment
• Be more affordable than HEV with Stage6 compliance at lower cost than current Stage5 engine
• Provide smooth and linear response (Maximum speed: 5200rpm)
SKY-DRIVE
• Incorporate advantages of all types of transmissions: DCT, CVT and torque converted AT
• Contribute to improvement in fuel economy with 4 - 7%
• Provide manual-transmission-like direct feeling and quick shifting feel
• Have a smooth and powerful startup performance and smooth shifting
• Lightweight and compact
Next generation manual transmission
• Have a sporty and crisp MX-5-like shift feel
• Lightweight and compact
Chassis (Suspension / Steering)
• Balance linear and accurate steering/handling with stability and provide comfortable and premium ride.
Chassis (Brake)
• Achieve easy-to-control and effective brake performance
Body
• Achieve best crash safety performance of body i.e. in each market
• Develop the most lightweight body
• Provide high-level, kinematical performance-supporting stiffness of the body

Interesting... Nothing there a bout a Forced Induction Petrol Engine. Lending some weight to the possibility tha the next gen MPS could see a high compression Turbo Diesel.

sounds good. Lets see it in action
