Question Anyone in NSW been defected for a pod filter?

    Anyone got an embarrasing story?

I'd like to make up some kind of airbox for the corkspor SRI that i'm contemplating (in NSW it must be enclosed to be legal)

Alternatively the CPE CAI might be a bit better cause you can't see it?

I not too keen to get a defect notice just yet...

Not personally, but it happens - I have a few mates that have been done for having one.. I have the Mazdaspeed intake and just like the CPE you cannot see it so I think I may get away with it..

I had the same Idea with the CPE intake. Out of sight = out of mind. So far as I know the law is that the filter need to be 'enclosed'. To me if its buried the way the CPE ones are thats pretty much enclosed and, as its not visible, whos to say its not enclosed?

It is a defect, but the chances of getting pulled up for that are minimal.

A Blow off valve on the other hand has a far greater chance of getting defected cause the law enforcement officers can actually hear it.

I'm running the Corksport FMIC with CAI and thought the same thing... out of sight, out of mind.

I have the CPE CAI and you can just see the top of the filter under the headlight if you are looking for it, I have put a Repco heat shield around my filter mainly to avoid any chance of splashes getting up under the wheel arch vent, and with this in place you cant see any part of the filter exposed, so you could argue that the pod is enclosed, short of them making you remove your front bar.

I have a BOMZ one (a knock off of the Mazspeed one I believe) its hidden well enough you cant see it. The pod sits where the old air box sat so its out of sight.

Yeah good, sounds nice, only noisy when you put your foot down. Fit well and half the cost. I got mine from the USA. ebay had them for like $260 AUD.

What is the reason of enforcing this law in NSW only anyway?
