    Option 1:
Install it in the boot of my MPS (I don't use it anyway)
    380Kw, 760Nm, AWD, zoom zoom

    Option 2:
Ford XR5 to show them what real power is...

    Option 3:
Make a table out of it like they did with that motor on Top Gear

Awesome. I withdraw all of my previous reccommendations, and vote '79 323.

Handled like a go-cart is my recollection, but then I only had 1.4L?

    I like this idea too

It depends on what you want the car to do and what your budget is, if you still want to use it as a daily then MPS 3 with AWD would be the way to go!

I like the idea of an NA MX5 with an MPS motor too, or if you're wanting to stay on a similar platform, throw it into an BK Mazda 3 sedan body for something different!

Or how about this - RWD 1000kg kerb weight

    R36 - Just like an MPS6 except with a growly V6

Mid mounted engine on an MPS3 AWD.

Failing that, chuck it in an AE86 Corolla for epic drift wins.

Failing that put in in a SSS pulsar.

How the hell did you come across a spare motor

The old shoebox metro has been done, not a MPS motor but turbo (ain't that special and I dare say the MPS motor would tear the car apart)

Sedan would be nice, but depends if your going to make a full track car or not, the hatch would be lighter.

AWD would be fun but expensive.

Just me 2 secs either way go big and go for broke

    I'm thinking:

Mazda 3 AWD (6MPS running rear) widebody, Like the VW Golf GTI W12. It would have to have around 500+Hp to be fun. Fully stripped with a roll cage.
Mazda 2 (Or 121 Metro) with MPS running gear.

    Any other ideas???

AWD wide body 3......that would definately be very awesome and an engineering project to be proud of.
    However....RWD '79 + MZR = drift weapon!

Nostalgia all very well and good, but AWD 3 would have to get the tick.
    Make it a sedan!

What about a mid mounted MPS motor with MPS 6 driveline reversed in a Gen I 3 hatch body??

I always loved this when I was younger - Alfa GTV with mid mounted Brock V8

The Giocattolo was an interesting design concept. Australian made with a carbon body loosly based on the shape of an Alfa. Ran a VN Group A engine with a transaxle. From memory there were 14 made.

One of them was further developed by a fella known as Judge, who added twin turbos and a bunch of other stuff that pushed output to over 1200hp. Sadly both he and the car were destroyed at the end of the main straight at Eastern Creek.

Realisitic best idea is an MX5, then let Mazda have a go to see how good they would be, hopefully they'll put some into production and i'll know what my next car will be..
Mazda 2 MPS would be a fun little sleeper
Road and Track fun, maybe a Westfield/Caterham Lotus 7 replica???

More thoughts when discussing with Dad.
As it would be really really really really difficult to fit a FWD motor into a RWD car, another idea

Early Mini or my personal favorite idea, a Fiat X1/9, that would be amazingly fun.

Looks like a sedan is the order of the day. I think it needs to be a Gen FAIL though.

FWD to RWD wouldn't be that hard when you have the knowledge and friends with all the right tools.

I'd like to keep it 100% Mazda, well 90% (Engine and body atleast)

Does anybody have a Gen 2 that needs an AWD conversion???

the MX5 is BEGGING to have that engine put in it. I can't believe it isn't at least an option with the current model. Damn i'd love to see that.

honda got an auto 4wd jazz in domestic market, and 4wd for auto only.
4wd is useful in japan for daily driving purpose, snowing in winter there.
