Certainly to Mel, 6 in total....very important to line everything up correctly but if you drill through the holes in the bracket you can't go wrong

Did the instructions look ok to you? I had a go on the weekend but somehow it looked a few inches out. Where it said it should be 14 inches i measured 12.

I haven't drilled yet. Don't want any extra holes!

I did 14" and seemed to be fine Brad....looked like the same position as in the instructions

i measured up 14" too. the centre of the bracket lines up with the side of the random hole in the hood as can be seen in the instructions. im sure this is right, as when I installed mine they were EXACTLY the same length as the prop-rod. I actually had to remove the struts after first fitting to allow me to lift the hood another inch to get the rod back out. If you install the fender mounts first though, you can actually attach the strut and test-fit it before you drill any holes in the hood. good luck

Yeah fellas, found that out yesterday too.

It should read 14" to set the centre hole, then it would be spot on.

But all done and will post some pics tomorrow.

Top effort on this Brad, they look awesome, and work great

    Strut or installer FAIL!

Guys, how's the struts been going? I've had mine in for week now and on several occasions, after opening ok, when I close the bonnet, the buggers pop out of the ball joint on the fender. I had a double fail yesterday in front of the club showing off my new self lifting bonnet, enjoying the glow, but when I went to close I heard 2 double bangs. Opened the bonnet again, and what do you know, they've popped again. Grrrrr.

    Is it me?????

The fender clips have a small lock-mechanism that slides over the open section and locks them onto the ball studs. Did you clip these down when you installed it? I have not had and problems so far.

They looked a little flimsy but have not failed so far. maybe put a drop of glue on the clip to secure them if they are slipping off?

+1 for flimsy! The lock does seem to be a bit loose but mine havent slipped out at all.
