ok well sort of
It started out like as a Begi cold air box.
LTFT's were too high in the positive side for me ~ 12-14%.
No straighteners, and the maf diameter was too big. hence the high positive figures.
Enter a 2.5" piece of stainless pipe.
Have it expanded with hydraulic fingers to fit exceptionally tight in the housing, (its 66mm internal wall to wall now). No straighteners (not needed on an SRI IMO, especially with the velocity stack in the filter).
Drill out hole for Maf sensor.
Thank Chris at Best Mufflers for doing this with no notice.
Go home and throw stock airbox far far away. Then run it over (I thought about it)
Fit cold air box and maf housing along with Amsoil eaAU dry filter
Start car..
...remember to tighten up clamp on housing.. curse things
Restart car.
Take it for a drive. 100 or so k's.
Ltft at idle = +0.8
at low load +1.6
high load closed loop = +2.something
This is the closest Ive ever seen my fuel trims to being zeroed. Very happy.
Drive to my wife's work to pick her up (her battery died this morning). Blow the doors off a Z4 trying to cut me off from the lights due to a parked car.
Smile.
Laugh...
Gloat.
Laugh some more
Ring Chris and put shit on him.
Make a post about it.
