Im trying to understand why my AFR supposedly Leaned out on my Second dyno Chart (Post FMIC, DP and CAI)

The MAF Housing Dimensions (internal) of the CAI is identical to that of the factory MAF housing so in theory there shouldnt be any Ill measurements interms of inducted air..

Someone even went as far as trying to tell me that my engine is in Rod bending Territory..?

Why is it so many places yarn on and on about how the Factory Fuel pump is essentially a failure waiting to happen and that the fuel pressure is insufficient for anything other than stock??

12-12.5 afrs aren't terrible ( I wouldn't go any leaner), just make sure your able to monitor your knock retard, just to avoid anything critical going astray.

    Default Cdfp

    Hey there,

Had a fuel pump upgrade kit originally, it failed/siezed.

I ended up purchasing a cp-e complete kit as it is pre run in as well as sourced from APR (great quality VW/Audi name). Big dollars but piece of mind.

    Cheers

Fairly easy. Need a specific star/security bit to undo the pump.

As I no longer run a tune and am looking at a new car I no longer require the hpfp. If anyone wants the best pump available I would be interested in offloading at a reasonable price. Sale would be based on exchange.

Well it will set you back $1000 + delivery new. The pump carries a lifetime warranty, has been treated with a DLC and has been carefully run-in and tested for flow on a test rig at cp-e.

What do you think is fair??

Ill post the security bit for the removal of the pump, your pump is sent to me with the bit and I return the Cp-e/APR pump with bit for refit within days.

Ohh and your pump must be in perfect/normal running condition.

    Cheers Aaron

Note - not scaremongering but a failed pump or pump kit is pretty scary. I originally had a kit and it siezed (not uncommon if you search abit) this was not a pleasant experience. Remember that this pump runs off a lobe on the cam. The experience was like the worst cut ive ever seen, sensation is like your whole engine has siezed. I waited for over 2 months with no car to get this kit for piece of mind. The stuttering and fuel issues stopped and the car has run perfectly ever since the install. I no longer run any increased boost or tune etc and the pump is a waste with my current set up. I will prob part out all my quality mods fairly soon and Ill start with this as I dont currently benefit from it.

Its strange that your pump "kit" failed yet mine performed with no issues at all. The kit i fitted did just on 20000kms in my old MPS3 whilst i still owned it and has done a further 25000+ kms with the new owner of the car.

What rebuild kit did you use.. that may have a bearing on brand specific quality/issues?

Im looking to do something about this soon as i wish to get the bloody thing remapped very soon so dont want a flailing CDFP

I wouldnt mind a CP-e one as I already run a CP-e downpipe and FMIC

Its called customs...make sure they put the value of anything they send under $50...customs are cracking down on everything over that price.
