    ...some more...

    1. Here you're seeing me compare the parts to a bottle of wine, I had not idea how large the system would be. Left in the cat, on the right is a race pipe.

    2. High flow cat.

    3. DP

    4. Inside cat

    5. Cat and wine bottle...hmmm thirsty!

Default Best Mufflers DP - Pic's

Hey guys, looking forward to the install. I've already had a dyno run with the car stock, weekend before last with All Star Tuning. I've posted the results. All Star will be doing the install and will dyno the car afterwoods. Still 50/50 about an SRI as the current airbox in the GenII seems to breath quite well (see my thread about GenII Airbox). That said, my experience is limited so I'm listening to any advice...

Go Aussie for sure...any hassles there's an Aussie guy who picks up the phone.

...thinking of chucking in a K&N panel filter for dyno run. Would be awesome to have an SRI there to try as well.

Anyway have a spare SRI I could try???

So I dropped the beast off at All Star Tuning this afternoon for the install.

Sadly no SRI going in, but I am trialling a K&N panel filter. Once the dyno results are in I'll post them, plus the stock dyno results from a few weeks ago.

    Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Default The results are in...

So finally getting around to posting the results.

First impressions is terrific rolling performance increase and the additional juicy burble at low/medium revs.

    I've attached 2 dyno sheets.

    1. Blue line shows DP and K&N filter, no airbox mod, 158kwtw. Red Line show's DP with Standard Filter, no airbox mod, 163kwtw.

    2. Blue line shows my first dyno run ever, completely stock, 151kwtw. Red Line again show's Best Mufflers DP and Standard Filter with no airbox mod, 163kwtw.

Shock Horror!! I was under the impression (illusion??) these K&N's flowed better. But Richard wasn't surprised. His view is there design for durability and longevity. Certainly in the GENII setup, K&N's don't do skwat!

So, the boys then went about modding my airbox. Nothing scientific, just a big hole facing the wheel well. Richard say's it's good alone for 20hp. I'm not so certain, but there must be an improvement, given the good performance of the standard filter and now no restrictions from the factory setup.

Unfortunely some water got into a sensor on the Dyno and gave Richard a reading of 550kwtw. Nice!!!, but sadly no. So we don't really now what the extra gains are, but I trust his experience.

    So to summarize:
    1. Rolling performance is greatly improved (almost torque steered into another car on Ipswich Rd)
    2. 12kw/16HP improvement just with the DP.
    3. Let's say a possible 10HP (to be conservative) with the airbox mod.

So hopefully looking at 26HP or 20kw's extra from the DP, standard filter and orange sized hole in the box.

And it just feels a little bit wilder. Thanks for the advice guys and girls.

Received mine last week and installed (not myself). Love it. Love the sound and feel! Spools so much quicker! The cat is phenominally huge!
