Thread: 225/40/18 on a 7.5" rim

  1. Default 225/40/18 on a 7.5" rim

    hi Guys,

Im not sure if there are any tyre experts out there but i was wondering if any of you know if a set of yokohama advans a048 size 225/40/18 will fit on a rim size 18x7.5. I've had a look around and it would seem that a few people have put street tyres of that size onto a 18x7 rim and have had no problems. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if a set of semis will fit a slightly larger width rim?

    cheers

You should have no problem with this fitment - it's actually the 7" rim that is too narrow for the manufacturers specs in most cases with 225/40R18 fitment.

Check the manufacturers specs. They are the last word.

Funnily enough 7.5 is the minimum recommended rim width for that tyre size.
