Thread: Magnaflow muffler.. Best Mufflers of course!

  1. #1

Default Magnaflow muffler.. Best Mufflers of course!

Either next week (Common Chris fit me in.. i know how much you love the MPS) or the week after (Boo...).. Im going to have my center baffled muffler replaced with this.... (or very similar magnaflow straight through unit)

Best Mufflers the Muffler and Exhaust Specialists

Chris is going to flange it, so it can be swapped over easily (thats the theory anyway)..

Should flow a little better... and change the note a little..

    Im excited

and I know Chris is bursting at the seams to get another high quality Mazda vehicle in his workshop...

Ill keep this updated.. as long as no one asks for a bloody sound clip.. I have no time..

    Cheers all

    Doc

Magnaflow seems to be his muffler of choice he uses it everywhere and when ever he can. My car has them too

All is done.. " magnaflow muffler... 3" from cat to muffler.. then stock 2.5" end res still remains..

Car goes better.. im shocked.. as I wasnt really expecting too much HP gain.. (just wanted it to sound a little nicer)..

Well car now sounds wonderful.. no drone.. and under normal driving it sounds almost identical to stock.. (especially from inside).. and it revs better.. obviously that stock baffled bugger chocked the system up more than I had assumed.. *Ill now eat my words that the muffler wont make any difference)

Welds.. fit and finish is as always excellent from Chris..

    Very happy

    How much Doc?

After the service today it was picked up that my rear muffler has a cracked weld across the front where the pipe joins (this is the stock one, not Chris's work).
So, looks like I need a replacement.. oh, the muffler is also collapsed.

for sure.. I was quite shocked (So was Chris for that matter, he told me not to expect much to start with.. but when he seen the insides of the main muffler.. He changed his mind..lol) . Big thanks to Chris for doing such a great job.. and for recommending top notch high quality parts.

OK well ive put 500k's on the new setup.

Its quietened down a little bit more.

Its defiantly not a loud exhaust now.. it does sound quite nasty when you get on it.. but its as quiet as stock (or very close to it) under normal driving.

However seeimg im a bit of a grandma, i feel a little self conscious when I accelerate past someone (i feel like a should be a bit younger with my hat on backwards)... So i think im going to have Chris throw a 3" stainless resonator in fron of my sexy muffler.. Ill report further next week.

    Cheers
    Doc
