Default Awesome Bang for buck mod !!

    Hey all,

You may or may not be aware that Ive had a few probs with the car lately.

    1/Spluttering when cornering
    2/Loss of power in general

I removed the SWAS to give myself an interim fix on the corner issue and thus far it has made the car more enjoyeable to drive (untill I get to mazda for a checkover).

The other problem has persisted and I started to feel maybe I was mad and was so used to the car that I was accustomed to its power.

Yesterday I decided to start demodding the car to sneak back under warranty. Last night I removed the intercooler and also the BOV, re-installing the stockers. This mornig on the way to work I had to give her some to merg and f*** me dead the bastard wheel spun through second and part of third!! She was back!! ??????

Anyways the moral to the story is zero cost gave me a huge increase in grunt, value plus

    Bloody mazdas

    Thats what I was thinking...

An IC or BOV shouldn't cause any issues, unless there was a leak, in which the turbo won't be able to spool up.

I knew you guys would say that as it was the obvious thing . I previously checked all hoses post turbo (both inlet and outlet of intercooler and bov inc recirc hose), I found no issue.

My feelings are that maybe the "bulletproof" cpe hks is failing somehow??

I also thought the TMIC but I pressure tested pre install when I originally purchased years ago. I also fail to see how I could possibly hole a TMIC.

Yeah thats pretty odd. Worth getting both parts pressure tested again now?

Sounds odd that it would be the hks, by design it should close harder with more boost, take the (complete) front off the valve and give it a good visual inspection, also push the valve in with your thumbs to see if theres any irregular / erratic movement of the piston, another idea is to inspect the circlip & o ring area, maybe this wasn't sitting correctly and has worked itself loose over time.

I think I got on the car to early after the reset and it had not completed its learning phase. Your LTFT statement is prob correct.

Ive reset the car again and will baby for 50-100km this time.

Patience is unfortunately not a virtue for me

I thought it would have been your LTFT's too after swapping all the bits back...

Hope Mazda find it's something weird totally unrelated to anything you have done, fingers crossed.

    UPDATE

Swapped OEM TMIC back to ETS and spent ages tightening new clamps and checking all hoses.

    Car ran piss weak, frustrated.

Had my 14yr old rev car till producing boost while I felt for obvious signs of air leaks.

Found leak, big mother crack on weld. No wonder I had no boost, should feel the huge burst of air when on boost!!

    shiat..!

is that the actual crack on off center of the weld bead?

    Thats a little piss poor..

And more so, unusual for it to crack along the weld itself..

Get it fixed.. sell it and get yourself a FMIC.. solved
