Unhappy Mazda 6 MPS Spring blocks/spacers

    Hey guys!

This is my first thread for this site though unfortunately isn't in the new members section.. (as i haven't got my car just yet..)

I've purchased a 2007 Mazda 6 MPS from Sydney and have organised it to be shipped over to me in WA in a few weeks and have come across a few problems..

The car has been lowered and is 1.5cm below the minimum ground clearance for the train

A friend of mine who works at City Motors gave me some spring blocks/spacers (below) though the dealer has just told me that they are too big for the mazda springs

I was wondering if someone could post a photo of what FRONT mazda springs look like so i can sort something out asap (i've had a look on the net though most pics are of generic springs)

Or have any thoughts on how to go about this

    Cheers

I recently shipped my lowered MPS6 to Perth. It was shipped with Toll with no problems. I'm not certain but I think it went all the way on trucks.

If you get really stuck perhaps you could change shipping company to avoid the train.

Hm.. I was thinking of brining it over on a truck but all the quotes i got were a fair bit more expensive than the train, took longer and still had a 13cm ground clearance - due to the loading ramps

I needed to make payment in order to book the train :/

    Thanks kmh

That's a good idea BB. There are a lot of good deals on flights at the moment + you'll enjoy the drive.

you might even convince an east coaster to come across with you if your totally stuck and they can fly back

Great idea. I'll even drive out to Southern Cross and give you an MPS escort.

Seriously though, if it's only the front lip that is below the height limit I wouldn't worry about it. The lip is fairly soft and even if it gets damaged it only costs about $200 to replace, which is probably cheaper than some of your other options. I replaced mine last year and after transporting it to Perth there was no damage to the lip.

Toll puts all cars on train - by truck to SA - just shipped Honda S600 to Perth - new owner paid for a covered transporter. Driver informed me that he unloads in SA and they go on train as do all Truck Transporting companies. Just by the way CEVA who have the covered transporters are now owned by TOLL

    What a warm WA welcome.

Jeez, what will we do if GHyde decides not to drive across?

hehe awhh no! i've already paid for the train transport, i had to make full payment when i booked otherwise i would have had to wait another week or two!

Thanks for the help guys, i think im just going to have to send over some springs and pay someone to put them in for me.. so annoying though, i really dont want to risk having the dealer drive the car down there on a Saturday morning only to be told that the ground clearance is too low and then have to wait even looonggeerrrr

Anyone in SYD keen for a quick cash spring replacement job?

Just a question.. if the shocks have been replaced.. will the stock springs fit?

    Definitely keen for a cruise!

Also want to check out the mods you guys have made, i dont want to go crazy though i am looking at doing

    CAI
    CBE
    Turbo timer
    possible DP in the future

    Thanks again, appreciate it!
