Where's Nexus, he may have come across this feature in his exploration of the computer modules in the 3...would be great to have.

As said before....most *Euro* spec cars have this feature...called Global Closing.

My 2004 Barina has auto close of window and doors...and also opening.

Off course the XR5 would have it...its built in Germany.

When they build cars in Europe...they usually build all models to 1 spec...the top spec.

So even if you have the base model...all the wiring and modules are still in the car..just not active.

Japan...well they dont do this....i have no idea why..

I know in my VW Golf

i had to log in to the Comfort Control Module (CCM)

with a Dos Based program that used a Serial OBDII Cable

I had to reflash four bytes of Data at various addresses on the eeprom and this enable the feature which comes factory unlocked in the audis

    Hi guys,

I am in the UK and my windows do go up and down on the key. I had a focus and when the battery went flat or was disconnected I had to re-program the car via window movements and then it would work again like before.
The manual detailed that you put the ign on to live but do not start it,
press the down button and hold until the window reaches the bottom when it stops and let go the press down three times.
Next push and hold up until the top and when it stops let go and press up three times holding it for a second each time.
Do this for all four windows and hey presto it works. This was a 2002 focus but the mazda is based on a focus and it cant do any damage to it so i reckon its worth a go. Hope this helps you find the coolest key action on the planet hidden in your car.

    Regards

It's not something that has been taken out from other markets. For example, when Honda Australia has a new car that they will bring out here, they have an options list that Honda Japan offer, and once the boxes are ticked, that's the options we get. I know for a fact, that this window rolling with the key button pressed on the '09 Accord Euro doesn't exist because somebody at Honda Aust forgot to tick the box. I have no doubt that the same option list exists for other 'facturors including Mazda, and I'm willing to bet we didn't get this option because Mazda Aust would've chosen not to include it in our market.

    On a similar subject.
I had to disconnect the battery a few weeks back when modding the MPS6. Since then, i've lost the auto roll down/up feature for the drivers window.
Logic tells me it's a faulty switch but after reading above posts, perhaps the body module needs to relearn or recode in this feature.
    Anybody in the same boat?

Dude, hold the button down for about five seconds, then lift it for about five seconds. Should relearn it
