Thread: Exhaust dripping

    Default Exhaust dripping

    Hi everyone.

Every morning I warm my car up for a few minutes before I drive to work. Now I notice the exhaust spits out some liquid sometimes. This liquid also stains my garage concrete floor with black spots.

Any ideas what this could be? Is it normal? Should I be worried?

Do you have a stock exhaust or after market?

It's a stock exhaust. The car is completely stock.

Perfectly normal, its a by product of the combustion process, on a warm car the water usually vaporises in the hot pipes before it gets to the outlet, the black marks are just a bit of soot being collected on the way through.

Its normal, dont worry about it. They ALL run rich from the factory.

Cold Morning and exhaust heats up its just condensation, and your exhaust fumes are building up on the inside wall of your exhaust so when the condensation mixes with it it pretty much spits black wet fumes out..
highly doubt it would be running rich, your car would be running oddly if it were.

Its normal particularly on a very cold day when u first start the car up. The soot is just normal...i think its when we give the car a bit more boot the mixtures run a bit richer though thats my opinion. Anyone?

    Thanks for the input guys.

I also think these cars are tuned to run rich from factory because most of the MPS3's I see on the road have a little bit of black stain on the bottom of the exhaust tip from the wet fumes dripping out.
