    Default Stuttering under mild acceleration

    Tech question time!

I've got some stuttering under mild acceleration, wondering if anyone thinks it could be SRI or MAF related?

I have a Mazdaspeed CAI which is in SRI mode (lower pipe not installed), no other mods.

Recently I've been getting some stuttering under mild acceleration...lasts about 2 seconds until wooooosshh happens...it's starting to annoy me a tad. Anyone reckon it could be the airflow over the MAF sensor as a result of the SRI or the MAF sensor itself may actually be dirty?

The airfilter is due a clean, will do that this weekend and see if anything changes. Also tempted to rig up some airflow straighteners in the SRI to see if that makes a diff.

    Any ideas out there?

    Many km's on the car?

I never got one stutter until I hit 40,000 (still pretty rare for me).

Combination of the above would suck away power (lower bosst etc) but should give you a stutter.

Stuttering isn't generally a sign of heat imo, it seems to be more an issue with fuel/air ignition. Things to check for - maf and spark plugs. If you have one dashhawk logs would be useful.

    Result!

Cleaned the MAF and air filter today, no more stutter

Used some CRC Contact Cleaner to clean the MAF, was a bit dirty...had to do a few sprays for all the gunk to disappear.

    Glad it's fixed that easy.

Yeah, so was I. Was surprised how much crap was visible on it, makes me question the filtering properties of the standard filter that comes with the CAI...going to clean it a bit more regularly now.
