ok heres mine, dont look nearly as sexy as Nicks, but if I had sexy looking brakes it would detract from the coolness of my black car

Painted with several coats of matt black, then several coats of gloss black, grey/silver mazda brake decal (thanks hotcarstuff) then a few coats of clear over the top

Nick, are those photos from before your brakes got a little hot that time?
Or have you fixed them up.

Also, what paint did you use?

The photos were taken before they got a little too warm Haven't really had the motivation to redo them because they took quite a while to do in the first place. The painting is the fast bit; the prep time is the killer.

I used Motospray Caliper and Drum paint in Vivid Blue.

If I do get around to doing them again I was thinking of going the colour below

I think it looks great with the white car/dark rim combo so I reckon it would work with my car, and finish it off with black Mazdaspeed decals. Just working up the courage to do it And worried that the smaller calipers on the MPS (compared to the Brembos on the M3 above) would look silly in yellow. Im sure plenty of people think it looks rice/try hard, but ever since I saw the grey Lambo in the Dark Knight I've always wanted yellow calipers Very sad, I know...

I dont have pics of the process as they were done when I had the key scratch fixed as the Panel Beater did it for me...

Fixed up the link for you mymps3 FYI to add images from Photobucket all you need to do is copy the link in the box that reads "IMG code" and paste it directly into your message, hope this helps, also wasn't sure which images you wanted? hope I picked the right ones.

Here's mine, got some paint on the pads, due to my inept masking prior to spraying, but that came off

Hey Guys, how long before you: a) Drove the car after painting calipers, and b) stuck stickers on the paint? Cheers!

About 2 years before painting and a few hours after the paint dried before applying stickers.

I'd suggest if they're new paint them straight away less cleaning involved

Trent and I recently did ours. I did a couple of coats of black, then applied the sticks, then a clear coat. As soon as we finished, off we drove!! So, I don't think you need to wait too long.

Driving on them straight away can help the paint cure (as long as you don't get them too hot.)

What did you guys use to clean/prep the callipers. My rears are silver colour with a little bit of that rusty colour. But my fronts are dark grey and lots of rusty colour

Might need something heavier than a brush!

This was our effort. You can go a wire brush, but we used a grinder with a brass brush disk. Worked a treat.

Did you use prepsol or degreaser with the brass brush?
