Thread: MPS3 dripping

    Default MPS3 dripping

So as I was reversing out of a carpark this morning I saw a little trail of liquid coming from the car. So I got out and checked underneath. Low and behold it was indeed leaking. Just behind the front wheels there is 3 tubes with a piece of Plastic or metal. Have no idea what it is as it dries quite quickly. Anyone know what area it is and if it is going to cause much concern?

Photo might make it easier to diagnose, what sort of liquid? Oil?

I think there is a drain / runoff point around the area you are describing, I have noticed it with mine a few times (even when stationary), more so if there has been a heavy dew on the car.

Air coinditioning condensation most likely, nothing to worry about.

Unless the liquid is red, black or green, then worry

Yes it could be from the aircon. Did you have the aircon on around the time you saw the leak?

If it's clear liquid then AC drain most likely.

Yeah my AC is always on. Have a pic but its 3.5meg and can't resize it at the moment. Was mostly clear and dried quickly so sounds like the AC drain is the most likely issue

wow 39 in canberra, must be a heat wave

Even though i know what the liquid is under my car my heart always skips a beat when i see it.
Don't like things leaking from cars.
But with all our old cars, you would think i was used to leaks by now

We had our heat wave last week 42+

I'm the same with my car's "wet spot" On hot day's there is a lot more condensation fluid, though I still do the smell check occassionally, especially after I was at some traffic lights recently and a lady in her Mazda 3 Maxx was trying to start the car and liquid was pouring out from under, I jumped out and told her to stop. Turned out she had a service and they must have done something to the fuel line which dumped several litres whilst she was kicking it over
    R36 - Just like an MPS6 except with a growly V6

Ouch, I hope she got up them good and proper for that. A bad service is most annoying.
