Low offset anyone?
Low offset anyone?
That looks pathetic .
Colour looks great TR......
Welcome to the world of HellaFlush
damn rims got sold!! >.< oh wells
hey what do you guys reckon 17x9 +22? mazda3 mps
Just read through this thread, it doesn't seem like anyone is running a 245 tyre on a rx8 wheel (18x8 +50).
If anyone has any info on it, I'd be much appreciated,
Two questions, A: is it legal?
B: will it scrub with stock suspension?
I can't think of any reason a 245 would be illegal on 18x8+50, as long as it clears everything and doesn't rub.
(a) I would absolutely expect a gaurd roll to be necessary
(b) It's 12.5mm closer to the suspension components than stock (inside sidewall). I don't know if that would rub.
Steering might get too heavy.
Half of those cars are illegal in Aust...rims/rubber can't be outside the wheel arch....does look smoking hot though
I have thought of a reason 245 on 18x8 +50 might be illegal - if the tyre manufacturer says they need 8.5" rims. Something to check. They might.
Bump...
My latest ghetto mod project - MPS DTM style, think I need to do some work on it though
^^^^ 18x8.5
Offset? +32?
If you can pull those guards far enough TallDan that'll look fantastic!
Like Troy asked: Wheel/tyre specs?
looks about 8.5 +22ish
You win! 18x8.5 +32, with 225/40 rubber on that wheel. But...I've worked out another reason why the fit was wrong. They're 5x112 not 5x114.3... I bought them on a whim off a guy who had them on an RX-7, and they were too good to pass up for the asking price...got me stuffed how he had them fitted on an RX-7 with a 5x114.3 stud pattern
Edit:
OK this is getting better and better I bought these off a guy who had them fitted to a seriously fast RX-7, these were on the car when he took possesion of it. When I got the wheels they were supplied with 4 large nuts and 1 smaller nut per wheel, the smaller nut was obviously to account for the difference in PCD between 5x112 and 5x114.3 as with 5 large nuts the nuts wouldn't sit centred in the holes on the 5 x114.3 PCD studs.
Wheel Nuts
PCD - can see it's 11.2cm (ie 112) in the image
So...the moral of the story is, if it's too good to be true it probably is, and...if the seller isn't forthcoming with basic information about the item for sale then it's reason enough to leave it for someone else to get. Both of these points are advice I usually take, but in the heat of the moment I got excited and went against them so I now have some nice Audi A4 wheels
Off to the Audi forums now to sell them and see if I can get my money back

Awwww poor dan And you were so excited in your ghetto mod mode Goodluck
You guys really need to check this out before ruling out low offset and aggressive fitments.

I've been thinking on running some aggressive fitment on my MPS since I purchased it, been real keen on some 18x9 +30 offset with 225-40s and on coils, but now thinking something along the lines of 18x9.5 +38, with coils, rolled guards, rear camber kit and some 235-40s all round.
Has been done before on a MPS 3 in the US so I'd be willing to give it a go...
BTW I've attached the offset calculator file....
