If you're selling just whack the KU31's on, they'll do the job OK.

See I have the toyo proxes4 on the cx9 wheels on the car at the moment and the proxes4 have a little bit more road noise than the 050s..

    I hope the KU31s aren't noisy..

A guy at work just replaced the RE050As on his VE SS with the KU31s and said that they're quieter, hook up better but are slightly more flexible in the sidewall.

Great advice on the KU36s. They seem to be great BFYB, I got 215/45-17 for $166 fitted.

I have just put a set on our Cooper S; I am really interested how many kms I get out them

I have just got my Yoko's replaced with KU31'S. Fitted $ 220.00 ea.

In all honesty the KU31's are running great. Little road noise, handle really well. I am more than happy and if you compared to the Yoko's they are huge value for money. Yoko price was $ 398.00 ea

Very happy here with the KU31's.

Yes Heath. Thats what I had.

Great rubber - However they just don't last at all. I have the stock size on my MPS. Maybe got 10k - 12k out of them and once they got half worn they went away real quick. I was quoted the some Falken's for $ 298.00 ea.

One of the guys at work put me onto KU31's as he has them on his SS ute and likes them alot.

I have had my MPS since June 06 and had a few tyres on it. I have been on the KU31's for a few days and I am liking what i am feeling. Hey and if they don't last longer than 15k, i am not worried at $ 220 ea.

KU31 is a good tyre, not typically considered good enough for an MPS, but has a good reputation for value for money.

I am looking at getting KU31's for my MPS, simply because they are one of the few decent tyres I can get in 225/40-19 to suit my RX8GT rims.

I got a price for the OEM Bridgestone 050's of $750 a tyre, and that wrote them off pretty quick lol.

Adrenalins were $550 a tyre, still too damned much.

KU31's I can get for $275 a tyre, though I am tempted to get some Michelen PS2's since I found them at $450 a tyre.
MPS is gone. Ghey Trail enabled....Not Happy. MPS 6 to come

dunlop direzza dz101 vs kumho ku31 ecsta sport

the ku31 got a better score

Yokohama's S.drive Lands In North America

thats pretty expensive for the ku31, find out how much 225/45/r18 will cost in the kumho, it should be cheaper than 215/45/r18

    Kumho SPT 31 (225/45/18) at $295 each (without promotion)? => $1180
    Kumho SPT 31 (215/45/18) at $275 each (without promotion)? => $1100
That's the cheapest I can find in WA for Kumhos from Kmart Autos.

Now Dunlop Direzza DZ101 is cheaper than Kumho SPT31.

Thanks for the info on tirerack.

Beware, I have reports that the DZ101s can be quite noisy.

interesting, im running neova AD08 yokos and i got 22k out of them and they are softer compound, i wasnt kind to them at all.

im running 235/40/18 now on new wheels and im hoping the wear can improve with a wider fitment.

i also want to put a set of AD08 225/45/18 on my Gen 1 stock rim in 2-3 weeks, how much was your set cost??? do you (or anyone) know where i can get a good price around ACT or Sydney area???

just contact your local bob jane or tyres and more they should carry the full range of advan tyres.

expect around 400 per tyre, 215/45/18 should set you back around 390

they are exxy but i can tell you now they are the best tyre out there, often out performing semis while giving better wear

I think I have gone through the whole thread and have noticed that no one has mentioned Hankook Ventus V12 (in OEM sizing).

I too like everyone else was shocked to learn the pricing on the OEM Bridgestones, and when I had clocked 35,000km on them, it was time to change.

I looked around and realised that if I wanted to stay in OEM size, there wasn't a lot around.

Ended up finding that Hankook Ventus V12's had my sizing, $1100 for all four corners, and 25,000km later, they are still more than serviceable (note, I had not had any track days etc).

I think they are a reasonable option, given cost and definitely quieter than OEMs.

    Just my 2bob worth.
    Weeeeeeee....

In the UK, the Hankook's are rated quite highly. So too are Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas and are a similar price to Toyo T1R's. Don't know if you can get them in Oz. If you have never heard of them take a look at the unusual tread pattern on the Net. Quite a head turner.
