Its called cold start & its normal.....dont worry yourself.
this means your car is working perfeclty normal!!
generally let it sit for a few secs before you head off too, and once you finish your trip just let it idle for 20 secs or so!!!
Auto choke been around since adam was a tadpole....
i remeber the day when i used to start the car for mum/dad and pull out the old choke!!
Yes this is completely normal, happens on cold starts only.
dito!!
Perfectly normal and just about all makes of cars behave like this, something to do with emissions and getting the engine to running temp quickly I believe! If it doesn't settle down to normal RPM within a few minutes then something is not right, get it checked, otherwise don't worry
kk...i knew it was normal just 2000rpm seemed it by high compared to my other cars...thanks
I do agree, this is the highest revving cold start i have seen! But again, very normal
My good ol 1970 cortina, still manual choke... its actually FUN to start the car!
yea mine does it. where do ppls car sit at normal idle? just curious
mine does the same at startup as well. At idle its around 900rpm mark...depending on whether the climate control is on
yeah mine starts around 2000rpm, used to have a celica that did that same so don't worry about it
drops to about 900rpm when settled then
Ok so i timed mine this morning....... lol
28 seconds to get to 1,500rpm... about another 25 seconds to get to 1,000rpm
(AMB TEMP= 26 degrees @ 7:45am Adelaide)
Being pedantic... yes
Yup normal, mine starts at almost 4000rpm.
...they used to love me until I got the exhaust.
4000rpm would be so loud...as mine is wake up the neighbours at 6.30am loud at 2500rpm but damn yours would sound sweet
I was messing around about the 4000rpm ...that would be insane for a start up, still pretty loud at almost 2000rpm.
They can always move if they want, im not stoping them
