Yep, just had a look, they are the correct ones, avoid the flat plate style flanges, they just dont work and usually leak, eventually they work themselves loose.

pretty much just that, a flange cut from plate steel, with a big hole in the middle for the gasses to flow through and typically two bolt holes either side, kinda like this shape (oOo), the donut flanges as are fitted to the car are dished to allow for a special gasket to fit between the male & female plates, allowing the join to pivot as required.

Ok just called bankstown mufflers as i work near them and they quoted me $60. How should i go about telling them about the correct type of flanges? Im going to show them a pic of the streetunit pipe for reference. Gonna go down there 2moro on my lunch break

They should know the flanges, I believe they are becoming a lot more common, particularly on fwd cards as they are cheap in comparison to flex joints.

    Let me know
is this the one on Canterbury road?

If so they butchered my mates VN
and the steering wheel had to be held like 25 degrees to the left to go straight after they were done..

If you were in Brisbane, I could make you one.

How desperate for one are you? I might try make a few in the coming weeks.

MPSgarage has them for $277. Half that price sounds reasonable, about $150

A high flow cat costs around the $250+ mark, on its own.

short of the cost factor, not really, the hi-flow cat will impede the flow a little, but I doubt it would be very noticeable.

You could try calling Chris at Best mufflers at Carlton, he did an awesome job on mine, but he is usually insanely busy, so you might have to wait a little while, if you explain what it is and even drop my name he should know what you are after.
