I went for the Turbosmart for it's looks and it's sound, other BOVs sounds were crap IMO.

I saw this nice one today, but it was $600, and it was bigger then the TurboSmart. ah all the possibilities. But what BOV/CAI package did people get on the GEN II MPS?

I run a Turbosmart Bypass Valve with an SRI. Works Great.

    Is that a GEN II?

No it's a Gen 1 but all parts fit Gen 2. With the airbox removed that is

Yeah, I'm just looking around now. It's really hard to decide.. this forum seems to promote the SRI but overseas/other forums mostly promote CAI.

Oh the choices... but I better make one soon cause I want my BOV.

Has anyone else installed a Dualport Turbosmart on their Gen 2??

I have a CP-E CAI recently installed and it doesn't look like the BOV will fit. I will try playing around a little later and see if I can move the CAI into a different position. Perhaps I attached the other end of the CAI to the wrong bolt in the guard.

Anyways, some pics attached. You can see the CAI pushing against the turbosmart BOV. The Mazda BPV cleared the CAI fine

Someone in the U.S had the same problem so its not just you.

The guy left it on but after a few runs, the BOV left marks on the CAI and he heard the occasional clicking.

In the end, he took it off and bought the TurboSmart BPV from Streetunit.

Yeah, The BOV you have is longer than the std BOV. You could try moving the CAI or get a shorter BOV as you suggested.

PostmanDan had issues fitting the BOV to a std airbox, hence why I made a new SRI and box to suit the longer BOV he had. It should suit most BOVs then.

Found the post from the guy on the US Mazdaspeed forums.
Installed TurboSmart Dual Port (StreetUnit) in 2010 Speed3 - Mazdaspeed Forums

I persevered and managed to get the CAI to clear the BOV. I put some rubber in between to in case they end up rubbing on each other. The CAI still has some room to move on the mounts if the BOV ends up touching it.

    Pics attached.

Clark Rubber is my friend. $3.50 worth of neoprene rubber & a few bits of electrical tape. Now the car actualy sounds like it has a turbo.

...plus i was just complimenting Jono on what i think its a nice and clever solution, one which every Gen II owner wanting a CAI can benefit from
