Thread: new exhaust

  1. #1

    Default new exhaust

Just ordered a full 3" stainless from D&Tfor my 09 3MPS. Includes turbo dump pipe, 3"stainless metalic cat, 3" cat back system and dual outlet 4" tips total cost is $2400, this in cludes freight to Darwin, fitting, 10 year guarantee, and they detail your car.
Had a similar system on my old MPS from D&T for nearly 3 years with no problems, virtually inaudable at cruising speeds and gave just on 15kw. The bloke at D&T said the new system should give more due to a different turbo on the 09 model [true/not true?]

I doubt it... It would be just an updated version of the previous K04. The car still puts out the same power as the Gen 1. Main difference between the 2 is the power delivery.

Our 3" system gets approx 25kw, if you are interested.

Just realised it's Gen2, we haven't done one of those yet.

We in Darwin are never going to get the power avaliable to cars in other parts of oz. By 0900 the temp is 30+ deg and 90%+ humidity. The best i could get out of my old MPS in Darwin was 187kw, had a dyno done while in Adelaide 10deg 50% humidity and got 211kw

    Who is "Our" 2XS?
Is this a company you work for?
Can this system you speak of be done in dual pipes for an 07 MPS 3?
Is there someone in WA that can supply/install this system?
An extra 25kw sounds very interesting...

A new website is coming. I've nagged the boss for ages about it. We've had the MPS system for over a year now and still no update. Lazy?

I think we'll have a new website to go with our new premises.

Got my full 3" exhaust fitted to my 09 MPS ferfect fit nothing hanging down, the only way you'd know is from the sound and larger outlets. Sound is a lot deeper than the one on my 06 MPS. No dyno run due to their dyno having problems, but it feels to be giving more kws than my old one probably in the 20>25 kw range the big gain seems to be torque going by the accelleration it still has in the higher gears. That is the second first cab off the rank MPS exhaust made by D&T for me and they have both been up to my high standard expectations.

    Also interested in the CES.

Have had good experience from CES from my GTiR days.

I recorded mine today, just idleing, but, you couldn't hear the exhaust over the ambient noise. I'll try something different next time (maybe this weekend)
