can give best mufflers in carlton a call
or westside mufflers in padstow
i remember a while back in performance imports magazine, westside mufflers did say that their favourite metal to work with is titanium, though they never said whether they actually work with it
titanium!! Any reason your going for something so expensive?
well I know a titanium pipe for a bike is a good $2000ish...
No luck with padstow. They do a titanium muffler onwards, but not too keen on going more then just a tip, will get pricey with a muffler i imagine.
5zigen should do it hey? ill try find their number
Skyline GTR35 HKS Exhaust
Just over $5000
Thats a full exhaust. Im just after the 15cm long tip.
Dont quote me on this, but Im pretty certain titanium (true titanium) requires specialist welding equipment & training, so I doubt many exhaust shops would be able to do this.
You are certainly right there Matt, thats where half the price is...it reacts differently to normal metals so different techniques are required to weld and work with it.
$250 bucks for titanium muffler all the way to the tip. I'd definately pay that but they only have it in 2.5". and looking under the car my muffler is about 1/2 metre back from the tip. then 3" pipe then tip. so i dont think that will work
Nah that won't work at all...weird they only have one size though...
Yeah it is. Rang a metal works guy in silverwater. He sells 3" pipe, but doenst have the 3" flange to join it to the steel section of the exhaust. He said he'd have to order the flange from Japan or the states. didnt think it was something this rare.
wow...thought with all the import cars around which seem to want these kinda pipes there would be heaps around
Just drop your current exhaust a bit and hit the tip with a blow torch for a while, I'm guessing its the signature heat flare look you're trying to achieve.
get rid of all your CATs and it will do it by itself
not many people go for titanium because its so expensive, and not many places will do titanium exhausts
yes there are a lot of imports, but no there isnt much demand for full titanium systems
then you also have the greddy (i think) kits that have a titanium tip and stainless steel muffler
Matt, thats pretty much right. I like the look of the blue. haha. i know its a wanky thing, but so be it.
hmm me + blow torch will + car on fire i think. But its another option. Guy from Xforce told me to try that too
I'll bring the marshmallows
