Default Anyone painted MPS3 OEM rims?

Getting quotes done on this for my Red MPS3 and am thinking of gloss black.
Has anyone done this before? If so I'd love to see some pix. I see the Targa Tas MPS3 rims were done white but I'd love to see some black ones...Cheers!!

Hey...surprised no one has mentioned MPSI's car (formerly 2000MN's car). The wheels are tungsten grey, but close enough to give you an idea.

Was looking at getting mine powder coated black too. Bloke in Artarmon, NSW said about 80 bucks a wheel which includes walnut blasting or sand blasting. one or the other.

Had a picture of a black mps with powder coated black wheels. will try find and post.

I'm seriously thinking of doing this to mine, and thinking powder coating would be the way to go!

    Why are you thinking powdercoating?????

When i got mine done i had long talk with the wheel repairer and long story short is that powdercoating is much tougher than paint. But if you get a stonechip or accidently some gutter rash the powdercaot is prone to flakeing and the whole wheel needs to be redone. Where as pain is softer but wont flake and can be touched up and easily repaired.

Hence why i went paint .... Hope thats right ...thats what i got told anyway?

Eitrher way you should deffinatley do it

This is true, the company I work for has a powder coating plant and I had my CX-9 20's powder coated in a charcoal colour. Once you get a stone chip, the coating will flake off fairly easily. It's ok if you readily have access to get them re-powder coated every 6 months, but I think painting is probably a better option.

There is another thought the the heating involved in powder coating may weaken the wheels as well.......
