Imagine if the 3 was AWD!!
Does the current 3MPS have any difficulty getting traction being FWD?

Hopefully Maz has learnt the lessons from the engine poppers in the US - need all fully (sic) forged internals!
Been doing some digging... forged internals don't seem to be the solution thus far... There are a few built motors that are beginning to pop as well

Naturally being a Turbo FWD it will always have traction issues, especially off the line. But things like adjusting the suspension to a stiffer setup and wrapping the wheels in some decent rubber will always make a world of difference.

Biggest thing with a fwd in gaining traction, is that the weight shift from front to rear needs to be limited.

Does it come with traction control? My traction control works from standing start but must disengage once moving :-(

I guess at some point you can only (reasonably and reliably) get so much from 2.3L at 9.5:1 with high boost....I wonder what the compression ratios were on the built motors that popped....dropping back to 9 or even 8.5 might be a good idea if you were going that path....

not compression related apparentely. One finding is that the direct injections cooling effect is not consistant accross the piston surface creating hot areas around outer edges, leading to failure.
