    Default Making my Own Intake

    Hey Guys..

Since i cant get a hold of a K&N Typhoon kit for a Fair price in NZ so ive decided to replicte my own...

i was just looking for a bit of help from fellow mazdabators..

Im going to get Thick wall Alloy tube and need to know what ID and OD your Intake Systems are...

also if any one will be taking off their intake in the next week or so for what ever reason could you be so kind as to take a photo of what it like inside where the MAF houseing is welded on to the Ram pipe!

I will be making all of this my self and folding up a Heat sheild... CAI is out of the question for me as NZ is to Wet and Shitty for it...

Thanks guys hopefully someone can help me..

ill document it well and post up Dimensions and materials used ETC ETC

    Intake ID is 68mm
    Intake OD is 70mm

    MAF ID is 31mm

CES Racing heatsheild (as an example)

I'm yet to experiment with the air straighteners fitted to my intake. I don't know if the will help with boost cut issues.

Try a 4" pod with a venturi into the 2.75" MAF housing. It might be a good thing.

Just don't put the MAF sensor near the turbo, it will fail horribly if you do that.

Why don't u just buy one off the shelf?

well as explained in the past..

Shipping to Auckland, New Zealand is ****ing Ridiculous... then you have the Exchange rate differences... i practically pay double that of what you guys are essentially paying..

The Dogbone mount was a 480NZDollar exercise... in the end i sold it to one of the guys on here for 100AUD because it didnt live up to the low vibe promises..

    -----------------

Besides... I love making shit custom, I have a small perfomance brand over here that i make custom what ever stuff so... i got the tools may as well personalise it how i want it

Anytime you need dimensions or pics of anything, let me know, I love to make everything myself too.
