Thread: Changing to an MPS 3

  1. Default Changing to an MPS 3

    Hi all,

Seriously thinking about trading my 07 POLO GTI in for 06 MPS 3. Main reason is that I need more room.

I was wondering from all current MPS 3 owners is what to look out for when buying a used one? I've spotted one at a dealer for $26990 (06 Sports). It has about 77000km on the clock - is that a little high? It's also got the aftermarket guages on the dash so obviously it's been owned by an 'enthusiast'.

So any info would be much greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to becoming part of the OzMPSclub.

    Cheers, John.

Welcome! If you buy from a dealer, they should give you a warranty on it. You could probably pay a little more and get one with lower K's...

    Its true red.

Thanks for all the warm hospitality guys, but it's not 100% definite that I'll be changing yet, lol. I'm going to take it for a test drive this Sunday and hopefully then things will be a bit more definite.

What I really wanted to know was what sort of signs to look out for i.e. obvious problems or faults that members on here have encountered or heard of. For instance whats this I hear about 'faulty engine mounts'? from my fellow VW forum members.

    Cheers, John.

The rear engine mounts used to bend (?) or deform the bolt holding it in place. They were replaced via a recall.

I cant really recall any other issues that are common place.
