My old Astina SP in the 90's was an ex-media car. I was the second private owner, purchased it around 40000km. The original rego was in the logbooks, just happened to coincide with the one pictured in the Wheels road test...Mazda HQ confirmed it when asked.

Edit: Seems I'd already posted that a few pages back

Tonks - Good deal, I'd be happy with that for the new model.

    Nice deal Tonks.

I picked up mine for 43k on the dot.

MPS 3 Gen II Mica Black Luxury

    Floor mats
    Tints
    Front and rear Weathershields
    Reverse Sensors
    Premium white number plates

I didn't see any use in any of the other extras.

Sounds like I could have bargained that little bit extra, but I didnt mind paying it as the salesman I dealt with was on the same wavelength as me. He just wanted a quick and easy deal.

Let me know if anyone wants to know anything extra :]

Wow they're some pretty sweet deals people are getting for the MPS - if I could get a Luxury MPS + Mats + Tint + Front & Reverse sensors, for $43k I'd be pretty damned happy about that!

I recently picked my 09' GEN II MPS (POV PACK) up for $37K Brand new extended warranty, MPS matts, Few things here and there chucked in.
I Decided to source my own connections for Silver lining Tint , paint protection, interior leather protection, and basic paint repairs for 3 yrs, for and extra $1.1K.
    all done by dealerships .

Puting in a set of HID's , and rear parking sensors, which adds like and extra $400-$500 at max.

i reckon was a reasonable price

Well done, I have been getting quoted $42 for the 'Pov Pack' - although I hadn't done any serious negotiating

    Can I ask which dealer?

    That's a pretty awesome price!

I got my 'Pov Pack' as it seems to be called, for $38,330 with mats, headlight protectors, aux cable & boot lip protector. I thought that was pretty good negotiating seeing as I went in by myself. I bought my Mazda Astina from the same dealership in 2002, different salesman though.

They made out like they were basically giving the car away - pfft.

yeah lol, the most common utterance from a car salesman:

"I'm not making any money on this deal"

    Biggest lie, ever.

Pov Pack as some of you guys say in Red, inc Mats, Tint and Paint pack for $38385 drive away.

Mentioned to them after I test drove it that I was going to drive the Golf GTI and went to leave as I said I would be thinking about it and they came back with a offer of $36990 for the car inc mats.

The salesman that I talked to said it is down to numbers on how much they make as opposed to the actual deal. The thing that did it for me was they weren't pushy and yeah I hit it off with the salesman so all good.
