Default OzMPS Crew & The New 2010 MPS3 - Pics!

    Hey Guys,

As you know, Rowan & the rest of the Crew made their way to Canberrra to see the NEW MPS, and take it for a drive.

All arrived safely. Apparently Mel & the rest of the ACT people were wondering where Rowie actually got to - everyone was off the plane! How did he get off the plane...? Forklift, due to his unfortunate broken ankle. Let's hope that does not get in the way of the drive day!

    See the pics below!

A few Q's for those that have now seen it....

At the back, I know the button below the Mazda emblem is the boot release, so what is the button in the tail light?

And did I notice in some of the pics that the driver's door handle has 2 holes in it? one is obviously for the key, does anyone know what the other one is?

With the push button start, do you still need to put the key in the ignition, or is it like an RFID sensor or something?

What did you pay & how long is the expected wait?

Tail-light i'd almost assume is key-lock for the tail gate.

I guess the key is a proximity key, just like the Lexus has.

I just spent the evening writing up our technical review of the new MPS so we can get the info out there as quickly as possible. I'll submit it to the editor in chief soon.

You'll be proud to know we upheld the honour of ozmpsclub by winning the skid pan comp.

Rick Bates went out first and set the benchmark time of 52 seconds. Next best time was Ted with a 54.3, but he was excluded from the results because he's an advanced driving instructor. That left me as the winner with a time of 54.7. Not bad considering the first time I drove an MPS3 was the day before

And it gets better, apparently the best time done by any of the motoring journalists was 56. I thought they were supposed to know how to drive.

    I'll stop bragging now.

    Gone to Volvo

Great to meet you guys out there yesterday, and thanks again for the lift Mal. While I own an MPS and have done a few things to it to meet my wants, and struggle to find much wrong with it, I admit you guys are almost fanatical in comparison.

You drove it well on the skidpan Mal, as did most present. Like me, I am sure with more laps of the thing, your times would have dropped.

I won't say too much more about the driving experience of the new car till your stuff gets out, except that I was impressed. Definitely a step forward!
